The 200,000 square-foot building will be one of the largest facilities of its type in the West and will provide optimal space for core instruction and laboratories to extend advances in medicine and the health sciences. The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building will be a hub where faculty, medical and graduate students, and undergraduates in the medical sciences will work together in developing new ways of understanding disease etiology and improving medical treatment. The new building will include a lobby, wet laboratories and associated support spaces, research offices and scholarly activity spaces, vivarium and associated support spaces, administrative support spaces, conference rooms, and break rooms.
The project will be built to LEED Platinum standards.
